Appliance Connections Done Safely

Plenty of appliances plug in and go, but many, ovens, cooktops, rangehoods and some dishwashers, are hardwired and legally have to be connected by a licensed electrician. Done wrong, they are a shock and fire risk and can void your warranty and insurance.

We install and connect appliances across Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan: wall ovens, electric and induction cooktops, rangehoods, dishwashers and more. If the job needs a dedicated circuit or a bit of switchboard capacity (induction cooktops often do), we sort that in the same visit.

Why It Has to Be an Electrician

Hardwired appliances are wired directly into your electrical system rather than plugged in, and in Queensland that connection must be done by a licensed electrician. It is not just red tape: an oven or induction cooktop draws serious current, and a poor connection can overheat, trip, or start a fire.

There is also the warranty angle. Most appliance manufacturers require professional installation, and insurers expect it too. If an appliance connected by an unlicensed person fails or causes damage, both your warranty and your cover can be at risk. We connect it properly and leave you with compliance documentation.

Which Appliances Need an Electrician?

As a rule, if it is hardwired (no plug and power point), it needs a licensed electrician:

  • Wall ovens and electric or induction cooktops
  • Many rangehoods and some dishwashers
  • Instantaneous electric hot water units
  • Pool, spa and other fixed equipment

Induction cooktops especially often need a dedicated circuit and switchboard capacity, so it is worth checking before delivery day. If your board needs work, see our switchboard upgrade service.

How It Works

2

We connect it safely

3

Tested and certified

We test it, leave the site clean, and provide compliance documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find your answer? Call 07 3813 0067 and we will happily talk it through.

Do I need an electrician to install my oven or cooktop?
If it is hardwired (no plug), yes, by law in Queensland it must be connected by a licensed electrician. Many ovens, and most cooktops, especially induction, are hardwired.
Does an induction cooktop need special wiring?
Often, yes. Induction cooktops draw a lot of current and usually need a dedicated circuit, and sometimes extra switchboard capacity. We check and sort that as part of the install.
Will using an electrician keep my warranty valid?
Yes. Most manufacturers require professional installation, and insurers expect it. A licensed connection with documentation protects both your warranty and your cover.
Can you remove my old appliance?
Yes. We disconnect and remove the old unit safely as part of the job and leave the site clean.
How much does appliance installation cost?
It depends on the appliance and whether a new circuit or switchboard work is needed. We give you a fixed quote up front once we know the model.
Can you do it on delivery day?
Often, if we know the appliance details in advance so we can confirm the circuit. Book ahead and we will line it up with your delivery where we can.
